Presentations and Trainings

Jugna Shah is a popular and dynamic educator who has presented to over 100 groups on numerous topics related to health care delivery. She is frequently invited to speak at local, regional and national conferences, including those conducted by HFMA, AHIMA, the Society of Clinical Coders, AAHAM, SePHIMA, HCPro, 3M, Infocast, Ingenix, the World Research Group, and CodeCorrect.

Ms. Shah regularly presents to CMS’ APC Advisory Panel on behalf of the Alliance of Dedicated Cancer Centers (also known as the 10 PPS-Exempt Cancer Centers) on numerous classification and payment policy issues related to OPPS and APCs. In January 2002, her presentation focused on essential considerations in creating OPPS polices to address payment rates for 2003. In April, Ms. Shah was one of 27 speakers who testified on options to address current expensive pass-through drugs, biologicals and devices for payment purposes beginning in 2003. At the 2005 and 2006 APC Panel meetings, Ms. Shah spoke up on issues related to drug administration, pharmacy handling, and packaged services

Ms. Shah’s audiences range from high level executives and finance managers to hospital staff required to manage under the day-to-day operational challenges posed by the APC/OPPS system. Ms. Shah also speaks internationally to senior government officials, policy-makers, and local technical consultants on development and implementation issues related to creating new case-mix based financing systems. Ms. Shah’s informative sessions help her clients implement lasting solutions to maximize their resources, compliance, and reimbursement.
